The aim is to connect with the person in front of the camera beyond just the imagery. The approach is both grand, portraying their personalities/uniqueness in a monumental style, while maintaining a personal element, revealing a side of them that viewers have never seen before.
Ghilian Chevelu is the creative director and founder of ILLUCID studios*, as well as a designer & photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa.
He has a very experimental approach to his work that is highly concept-driven. Using different mediums such as art, graphic design, film, VHS and digital photography to help portray each idea.

Over the past few years, he’s had numerous exhibitions and various features on prominent design platforms, including; Design Indaba, GQ, Kreative Kornerr, Visi, Nataal, Nairobi Design Week, Arts Thread and SA Decor to name a few.
